The Board welcomes SCPSAC/APSAC member input and feedback (via “Contact Us” link). We welcome member participation in advancing these efforts-see below for how to be an even more active part of advocacy for children!
Increase state-level advocacy in action:
-Seeking topics of needed public awareness and action suitable for editorial or white paper development
- Members: if you have an identified public awareness or action need in your town/city or a topic you would like support working on, let us know.
-Providing education and resources to other professionals & community partners on child safety/well being issues of Safe Sleep and the SC Daniel’s Law 2016 update (Safe Haven) at upcoming Roundtables
Expand membership and member involvement:
-Roundtable events to share updates on critical child wellbeing topics and connect local- & state-level community resources and first-responder agencies at location around the state are being planned for Fall 2017 through Spring 2018.
- Check the events calendar and news posts for updates as events are scheduled in your area! Open to Members and non-members!
-Members-only online discussion boards to link you to area resources and communicate on issues or ongoing concerns across and within disciplines.
- Invitations sent to Members to join DB in Fall 2017
-Seeking opportunities/events to promote membership, including state-only option, across disciplines that address child well being.
-Seeking opportunities to promote membership to students in related disciplines.
Please share ideas for membership recruitment opportunities (via Contact Us link) and encourage colleagues to consider membership.
Increase usefulness and utilization of the SCPSAC website:
-In 2016 and 2017, additional areas of information to assist professionals, including resource pages, were added. We continue to add to these as we become aware of organizations and opportunities to include.
-Events and News posts are updated regularly to increase usefulness of website for our members and others interested in advocacy and action for children in SC.
Visit website regularly-stay updated on events & trainings and get involved. Please share website and news links with your colleagues, students, and others as relevant. Share ideas with the Board on information or resources that would be valuable to you (via Contact Us link at the top of the webpage).
